Week 6
Our Book this week is The Biggest Thing In The Ocean By: Kevin Sherry
Such a wonderful illustrated book with bold bright colors. (Keeping within the theme of things from previous weeks.)
* In my classes l use my book reading to promote everyday conversations. Building on communication to promote literacy and vocabulary This book is perfect for our Read and speech and Language classes for preschool and Kindy groups as a read -aloud as it has simple bold text.

* Following instruction.
* What print looks like.
* What makes a book (front cover, the spine, the back)?
* We work together on the letter S for Squid
* We will also work on the sound the letter S makes (sound say's s-s-s)
* We will be working on the color Blue
* The number 3
* We also do a Craft Task practicing our fine motor skills e.g.: perfect pencil grip, scissor cutting
* Perhaps evening some singing and to end it all some quite meditation.
A few Idea’s for home.
Food snack:
Pop-corn as use can pretend this to be fish food, Decorate cup cakes make them into an Octopus, Dolphin shaped tuna sandwiches.

Preschool Learning - OceanFun
Art project:
Make a T.P.R Tube Octopus Use a finished toilet roll paint it when dry cut eight slits halfway add eyes and glue on to paper plate as if to pretend that is swimming in the ocean / Make an Ocean/ Beach scene Make an OCEAN/SEASIDE SCENE inside a small to medium glass vase.
Use beach sand, shells, small pieces of driftwood, the small discarded shell of a crab, etc., for a SEA SCENE.
Field trip:
EcoPark Fishing World- Theme park is a great experience Catch and release. Visit a pet store and have a look at different gold fish or visit SeaWorld or a local Aquarium. Road Trip Underwater World SEA LIFE Aquarium, Mooloolaba
