Program Designed to assist your child to ensure he/she has a

smooth transition to school.

 

  • Development fine motor skills for pencil grip, hold scissors correctly. 

  • Phonological Awarness - letter/sound knowledge through rhyme,syllables

  • Numeracy concepts - numbers,shapes, colours

  • Following instructions and attending to basic routines

  • Communication Skills- Being attentive listeners and confident communicators with asking questions and taking turns and sharing

Story Time:

Playing and Learning to Socialise (PALS) Group Social Skills Program for Preschool - School  Aged Children

 

45 min Classes,   3.5 -5/ 6 - 8 years +,

modified to suit ages Min 4 - Max 6

 

The program is designed to help preschool children develop a range of social behaviours that will help them develop friendships and get along with others. These social skills are taught through storytelling, songs, games, role-play and social activities.

The program consists of ten units, each one focusing on a particular skill. One skill builds on another so that the program gradually progresses to the more complex skills required for competent social interaction.

During the PALS program your child will learn to:

  1. Greet others

  2. Take turns: talking and listening

  3. Take turns in play

  4. Share

  5. Ask for help

  6. Identify their feelings

  7. Empathy

  8. Overcome fear and anxiety

  9. Manage frustration

  10.  

    Calm down and speak up                                                                 *Children attend the group without their parents as they tend to "get into the play" better when parents are not there. 

 

Read and Speech and Language Assisted Classes: 

 

One  hour Classes, 2-3 / 3-4/ 4 - 6 years +,

modified to suit ages Min 3 - Max 6 

 

My Program is Designed to assist your child to improve his / her speech-language and /or communication skills. This in turn will help the child feel less frustration and transition to school more smoothly.  Improving these skills leads to better reading skills.

 

  • Looking at what print looks like

  • Disscussion on what makes a book (front cover, spine, back cover author) 

  • Phonological Awarness - letter/sound knowledge through rhyme,syllables

  • Understanding simple concept words such as big/little, hot /cold and position words like in/ on/under plurals cats  running, jumping pronouns I,me,my,you

  • Adding to word count

  • Following instructions  min  2- part directions builiding on this by age and attending to basic routines

  • Communication Skills- Being attentive listeners and confident communicators with asking questions and taking turns and sharing

  • Numeracy concepts - numbers,shapes, colours

  • Development fine motor skills for pencil grip, hold scissors correctly.

 

Please note the following:

 *   Certified Allied Health Assistant - Specialize Speech Pathology

 *  This program can be introduced and ran in your childcare centre's for costs for childcare centre's please send an email request.

 * No formal and or informal individualised assessments will take place and or evaluations and no funding packaages and or rebates.

* However if you wish l do offer a service to liaison with the child's current Speech and Language Pathologist . So I'm able to work on his or her targets ( child's current plan) as one to one ratio) Parents consent necessary.
